Mounting recommendations: The grooved side of the tread is intended to be on the outside, drive side, to improve grip on a rough track surface. If riding on a smooth surface, the tyre can be swapped if prefered or can still be left with the grooved tread on the outside.
The tread pattern will provide more grip on a rough surface, as this tire is also used on the outdoor velodromes.
