The IRC Boken Plus TLR is a tubeless-ready multi-surface tyre designed for riders who want a comfortable, capable, and versatile option for mixed road and gravel riding. In the 700 x 42C size, it provides added volume and comfort compared with narrower road-focused tyres, while still maintaining a fast and efficient ride feel on firmer surfaces.
IRC describe the Boken Plus as a multi-surface tyre with a four-part tread design for smooth riding performance on varied road surfaces. It is well suited to riders moving between tarmac, hardpack, rough roads, light gravel, wet road conditions, and mixed-surface adventure riding.
The tread design uses a smooth centre section to help maintain speed on tarmac and firmer surfaces. An inverted micro-diamond pattern is designed to help with wet traction, while hollow-centre tread blocks allow the tyre to flex and grip when the surface becomes rougher or less predictable.
Tubeless-ready construction gives riders the flexibility to run the tyre with a tube or set it up tubeless on compatible rims. Running tubeless can allow lower pressures, helping improve comfort, grip, and rolling performance over rougher surfaces when used with suitable tubeless sealant and compatible wheels.
