688 LLU MAX BO - Max-Type, Black Oxide, ABEC-3 Radial Suspension Bearing - 8 x 16 x 5mm -

Enduro Bearings pioneered MAX type bearings over 20 years ago for bicycles to address the challenges associated with mountain bike pivots. MAX bearings provide 35-40% more load capacity than standard radial bearings by employing with a special design where the maximum number of balls (full-complement) are inserted into the bearing. The race grooves are also deeper on these bearings to provide increased lateral support to counteract the twisting and multi-directional forces associated with mountain bike pivots. This MAX-type, Black-Oxide, ABEC-3 bearing features deep-groove design races, with Grade 10 balls and full-contact, double-lip, labyrinth (LLU) seals for maximum protection against the elements, while keeping the 90% fill of Almagard Extra High Pressure Grease inside and Black-Oxide/Magnetite coating provides an extra level of corrosion resistance and extended worry free performance.

This bearing has been used as a suspension pivot bearing by a number of bicycle brands.

The Enduro line of bearings are available in High-Carbon Chromium Steel, 440C Stainless Steel, Ceramic-Hybrid and XD-15 with Ceramic or Stainless Balls. Our bearings are always engineered with deep groove races to accommodate the largest balls possible. All of our standard bearings feature dual-lip seals that ride in a micro groove creating a full labyrinth to provide ultimate protection against the elements.
